While fashion week may have come and gone, I still haven’t had a chance to fully review all of the collections.  I also noticed this blog was severely lacking high fashion posts. Anyway, I tend to unconsciously start with the more well known designers when browsing fashion week, which means I often overlook some of the most talented ones.  A designer that should really be discussed despite his unrecognizable name is Erdem Moralioglu.

If I could describe Erdem’s Fall 2009 Ready To Wear Collection in one word it would be playful.  With extravagant prints and silky black hues, the designer Erem Moralioglu successfully captures the frivolity and spirit of the london gal.  His collection was mostly shorter baby doll and empire waist mini style dresses in silk fabrics; however, in the final few looks he used a longer dress style with an almost mandarin-esque collar.  Besides for playful, his collection was very young.  All of his outfits seemed perfect for the classy British party girl.  I have to say, most of the time I’m not a big print person, but there were a few prints I just loved. He claims he gets the ideas for his prints from all of his travels prior to becoming a designer. His opening look was very creative with his use of color detail on the front of the dress.  I especially favored the solid looks, like the deep blue short sleeve flowered mini dress and the black flower detail dress.  Erdem’s use of detail is impeccable from the detailed flowers on the hemline of the some of the dresses to the print consistency in the ankle boots. Here are some of my favorite looks from the collection…
